Senior Front-End Engineer (Vue.js)

Datum Labs is hiring a Lead Vue/Nuxt Engineer with 6+ years of front-end experience, including 3+ years of Vue 3 and Nuxt in production. You'll design and build a new Nuxt marketing website from scratch for a US-based client, replacing a legacy site that has become too complex to automate.

You'll start by working through the legacy codebase, then set the architecture and build a site that generates pages from an ad-automation pipeline while staying fast and compliant. The client's design team handles UX; you'll own delivery and lead a mid-level engineer.

Scope of Work:

1. Discovery & Architecture
   
   • Run discovery on the legacy codebase and document what it does today.
   • Propose and own a clean, maintainable architecture for the new Nuxt site.
2. Programmatic Site Delivery
   
   • Build page generation tied to an ad-automation pipeline, at scale.
   • Turn designs from the client's UX team into production pages.
3. Performance & SEO
   
   • Own Core Web Vitals, SEO and rendering strategy (SSR, SSG, hybrid).
   • Implement tag managers, analytics and call-tracking scripts without hurting load times.
4. Compliance & Quality
   
   • Build the client's compliance requirements into the site from the start.
   • Set code quality, testing and review standards.
5. Technical Leadership
   
   • Lead and review the work of a mid-level engineer.
   • Work directly with client stakeholders on scope, trade-offs and timelines.

Must Haves:

• 6+ years of front-end development, with 3+ years of Vue 3 and Nuxt in production.
• Experience architecting a content-heavy or programmatic site with many generated pages.
• Strong understanding of SEO, Core Web Vitals and rendering modes.
• Hands-on experience with tag managers, analytics and call-tracking scripts, and their performance trade-offs.
• Strong TypeScript.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with client stakeholders.

Good to Have:

• Headless CMS experience.
• Experience mentoring or leading front-end engineers.
• Experience working in a consulting or client-facing delivery environment.
