Senior AI Engineer

We are hiring a Senior AI Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in building, deploying, and scaling machine learning and Generative AI systems in production. You will architect scalable AI/ML infrastructure, build LLM- and ML-powered solutions for our clients and internal products, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers across the team.

Day to day, this means working on things like conversational AI and chatbots, embedding LLMs into data engineering pipelines, and building AI-driven analytics solutions. The ideal candidate can take AI work from research and experimentation through to reliable, production-grade delivery, and raise the technical bar for everyone around them.

Key Responsibilities:

1. LLM Application Development & Delivery
   
   • Build LLM- and GenAI-powered features from prototype through to production.
   • Build retrieval systems end to end, covering chunking, embeddings, hybrid and semantic search, and re-rankers, and measure retrieval quality against defined metrics.
   • Engineer reliability and safety into LLM solutions through input and output validation, error and hallucination handling, and well-designed guardrails.
2. AI Architecture & Infrastructure
   
   • Architect reliable AI infrastructure and serving systems.
   • Design end-to-end pipelines covering data preparation, integration, deployment, and monitoring.
   • Optimize systems for performance, cost, and reliability across cloud environments.
3. Engineering Standards & Best Practices
   
   • Help define and enforce engineering standards, code quality, and good practices.
   • Build reusable frameworks, tooling, and workflows that speed up delivery across projects.
   • Ensure reproducibility, versioning, and sound testing across the AI lifecycle.
4. Technical Leadership & Mentorship
   
   • Act as a technical lead on AI initiatives, guiding design and implementation decisions.
   • Mentor engineers, review work, and help grow the team's AI capability.
   • Set direction on AI approach and best practices alongside leadership and delivery teams.
5. Innovation & Collaboration
   
   • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI technologies, tools, and techniques.
   • Partner with data engineering, product, and client-facing teams to translate requirements into AI solutions.
   • Contribute to solution design, technical proposals, and estimation for AI engagements.

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in AI or software engineering, with a strong record of shipping systems to production.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, include: API design, async Python, testing, containerization, and queues or background jobs, with the judgment to build maintainable production services rather than one-off notebooks.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and modern AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building Generative AI / LLM solutions (RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation, and light fine-tuning).
• Experience with orchestration frameworks and model-serving / APIs (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar).
• Good understanding of deploying and monitoring AI systems in production, including versioning and CI/CD.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Solid data fundamentals, including SQL and working with real-world data.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading work on projects.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with vector databases and building agentic or multi-step AI workflows.
• Open-source contributions or side projects in AI / GenAI.
• Familiarity with data engineering stacks and pipeline tools (Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Snowflake, or ClickHouse).
• Experience working in a consulting or client-facing delivery environment.
