Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help us build and scale the data infrastructure that powers our products and decisions. You'll design reliable pipelines, maintain our data platform, and work closely with analysts, scientists, and product teams to make data accessible and trustworthy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Develop and manage dbt models to transform raw data into clean, analytics-ready datasets
• Orchestrate workflows using Airflow, ensuring reliability and observability across the pipeline
• Build and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure on AWS/GCP/Azure
• Partner with analysts and data scientists to understand data needs and ship solutions quickly
• Establish best practices around data quality, testing, documentation, and governance
• Optimize query performance and storage costs across our data warehouse

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related role
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling
• Experience building and managing pipelines with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools
• Solid understanding of cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and columnar storage (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake)
• Strong communication skills — you can explain data systems clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub)
• Exposure to data quality frameworks (Great Expectations, dbt tests)
• Understanding of data mesh or data lakehouse architectures
