Job description
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with 2+ years of experience, specifically with hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Azure data engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining modern data architectures, ensuring seamless data flow, data quality, and accessibility across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows, and Pipelines.
- Integrate data from multiple sources into Fabric Lakehouse or Data Warehouse.
- Develop and manage ETL/ELT processes using SQL, PySpark, and Fabric tools.
- Manage and optimize Lakehouse, Delta Tables, Parquet files, and Warehouse schemas.
- Design and implement data models to support analytics and Power BI reporting.
- Collaborate with BI developers, analysts, and stakeholders to gather data requirements.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring across pipelines.
- Ensure proper data governance, security, and compliance in all processes.
- Maintain clear documentation of data architecture, pipelines, and workflows.
- Continuously improve existing data processes and stay updated with Microsoft Fabric & Azure trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines).
- Strong command of SQL for querying and transformations.
- Good understanding of PySpark and Python for data engineering workloads.
- Experience with Azure Data Services such as:
- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
- Azure SQL Database
- Azure Synapse (basic familiarity)
- Understanding of Delta Lake, Parquet, and distributed data processing.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT best practices and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with Power BI datasets and semantic modeling within Fabric.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Azure or Microsoft Fabric certifications is a plus.
